At this film evening hosted by the Goethe Institute Korea, Kat with share an experimental edit of her forthcoming film THIRST/Lost River – the first film in the THIRST series. AI is an embodied entity with a watery body, in resonance with its surroundings. In THIRST/ Lost River we trace the transformation of a watery landscape as an AI data centre is built, as the water is rerouted, reshaped and relocated to inside technological infrastructures. Based on rare field audio and video recordings from the construction site of Koreaโ€™s National AI Data Centre in Haenam, the film charts the massive structural change occuring, giving voice to the disappearing lakes and rivers at the site during this transformation.
