Painting for Hoi Yu
Here's a picture of the painting I recently finished for my friend Hoi Yu, who made my new bike, Nike.

Does medicine need a healthy dose of empiricism? http://is.gd/cOEvi
Check out my review of “Quacks and Cures” at the Wellcome Collection. The history of medicine can act as a good reminder that we should always assess the medical evidence.
My New Bike! and no other stories.
Here's my new bike, Nike. I've decided to name her after the Goddess of Speed - it was a toss-up between that and Visucia, the gallo-roman goddess, but Nike rhymes with bikee…
Nike was built by the wonderful and talented Hoi Yu Tang, and a marvelous job he did too. Single speed, Kona paddywagon frame, Specialized carbon forks… beautiful! And now I can work on my other bike, Mercury, without worrying about how I'll get to work in the morning!iPad!
I couldn't let today pass without gloating just a little bit about having played with the iPad over lunch. Here I am, in action - reading GhostRider in the sunshine. The iPad, like the iPhone used to take this picture, is of course not mine. It does, of course, belong to young Dr Wilson, who is maintaining his title as the most appley man in Clerkenwell. Unfortunately, he won't agree to buy me an iPad, even though I look so good with it.On the move…
The world rocks…
Lunchtime ode
What is a lunchtime without your smiley face?
A grey, wet miserable hour of waste
A soulless, dreary, sad disgrace
I’ll never smile again at lunch
Until I smile with you at lunch
What is lunchtime when you’re there?
I trip down the street without a care
There’s sunlight shining everywhere
I always smile at lunch
When I lunch with you
